A new year has begun and I figured I would dust off the old blog and begin anew. It has been a long while since I posted monthly updates about my life and I need to remedy that. Sweet irony, my life has gotten busier and more interesting and I have less time to write about it.
Wilem and I kicked off the new year with a visit to Don in Roanoke. Don was working a remote, so when Wilem and I arrived around 7:15 that evening he and I went out to eat at Macado's. I hadn't eaten at one since shortly after college and was craving one of their wonderful sandwiches. I settled on the Bonnie & Clyde and Wilem had their creamy macaroni and cheese with chicken and broccoli. We had fun taking in the restaurants atmosphere. Try as he might to ring in the new year at midnight, Wilem, who had had a long day which included a bump on the head while playing after school, conked out around 9:30. Don arrived home around 11:00 and we watched the ball drop before conking out ourselves. New Years Day the three of us spent the day hanging out and relaxing watching movies before Wilem and I headed home.
The new year also brought snow with a number of days of light snow. The beauty of the snow is short lived, what with the freakish warm days interspersed between the snow days. The above is the view from my front porch.
